History: Part of the Pocahontas County Library system, the Hillsboro Public Libary was established in 1978 as an outpost library. 16 years later, the library moved to its current facility on Third Street. The Hillsboro Public Library is one of 5 libraries in the county along with the main facility in in Marlinton and branches in Durbin, Green Bank and Linwood. The system serves over 9,000 area residents.
